The Italian American Sport Club (IASC), now known as the Frank DiMino Italian American Sport Club, was founded in 1948 by Italian immigrants in Rochester, NY, as a place for friendship, sports, and cultural pride. The club grew from its humble beginnings—meeting in homes and small storefronts—to owning property and facilities that became central to the local community.
Throughout its history, IASC has emphasized soccer, most notably winning the 1963 USA Amateur Cup and fostering the creation of the Rochester Lancers professional team. In 1957, it became officially incorporated, and after several relocations and challenges, the club settled on Buffalo Road, thanks to major support and a land donation from Olindo DiFrancesco.
The club’s modern growth and success are largely tied to the Frank DiMino Family Foundation, which has contributed over $1.1 million toward expansions, renovations, scholarships, and charitable projects. This generosity enabled the construction of new facilities, including a soccer field and clubhouse, and the elimination of the club’s mortgage.
