Social connection and physical activity are the two most consistently evidence-backed contributors to longevity — and Actigevity™ is built around both.
Actigevity™ stands for Active Longevity: the idea that simply living longer isn't enough for people who have been active their whole lives and want to stay that way. Longevity tied to pills and a walker is not for us. The goal is to remain active, capable, connected, and engaged for as long as possible.
Soccer is where I started because it's my first love. It brings physical activity and social connection together naturally. You run, sprint, react, compete, and test yourself — but you do it with others. The physical and social sides aren't separate; they're built into the game.
Fencing followed. We've already held our first Over-60 tournament and are building toward the second annual event. Hiking is next, and from there, the idea can expand to other activities where people want to join me in building active longevity.
Organized competitive sports — soccer, fencing, track, and others to come — operate under Forever Sporting™, the competitive-sports arm of Actigevity™. Hiking and a healthy-living program built on performance benchmarking and tracking take a different path — less about competition, more about staying capable and aware of how your body is doing over time.
The activities may be different, but the purpose is the same: to stay active, connected, challenged, and engaged as we grow older.
Our Mission is to promote active longevity by organizing competitive sports and activities that keep people active, connected, and engaged as they age.
Rochester is already America's #1 O-60 Soccer City® — and our Vision is to build on that foundation, making Rochester a model for active longevity, and bringing that same mindset to communities across America.
